BACK TO THE BASICS

Recently I've been trying out some new skincare items and I am not pleased with my results. In August I posted a blog posted titled" Recent Pickups I'm Excited About." I mentioned a few skincare products like the Kiehl's Blue Herbal Acne Cleansing Treatment as well as the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner, both of these products completely let me down. The Acne Cleansing Treatment actually did the opposite of what is it said to do. I immediately started to break out from the cleansing treatment, at first I was not sure if it was treatment or not! So, I stopped using the treatment and went back to washing my face with Dr Bronner's Peppermint Soap. I wasn't a huge fan of the toner, maybe because I've never used a toner before but I didn't see any change in my skin so I stopped using it as well. After two weeks of going back to the basics I found a new cleanser, the Jeffery James Botanicals The Wash, in the beginning I was super pleased and saw results after a week of using the facial was two times a day. It is a very gentle facial wash and reduced my pimples for a period of time but after a while it seemed not to work anymore. My face stopped improving after two months of using this product so, I ordered Drunk Elephant's Hit It Off mini duo, which came with the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser and the Lala Retro Whipped Cream. I had such high expectations for these product, I have heard so many great things about the Drunk Elephant skin care line and was super excited to try it but I was not pleased with the results. The cleanser had started to break me out and did not help my skin at all. I didn't have and problems with the moisturizer but it didn't not live up to the standards of my favorite moisturizer, which is the Belif's The True Cream - Moisturizing Bomb, so again I decided to go back to the basics. I've began using Dr Bronner's Peppermint Soap twice a day and the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser every other day, as well as the Belif's The True Cream - Moisturizing Bomb Since I have went back to the holy grail products of mine I have noticed a big improvement in my skin. I plan to continue with these basics because they seem to be the only thing that works for my sensitive skin.
