WOW WOW WOW!

I'm so speechless and amazed at how good this past weekend was! This was my first time ever being able to experience music midtown and boy, it was beautiful. I had been to one music festival prior to this and it was the Shaky Beats Music Festival back in May of 2016, I had only attended one day and one performance of Tory Lanez. So you can say I basically never experienced a music festival and all it has to offer until recently.

The first day was W I L D

There's no parking at the park at this time, as you can imagine there would be no parking for the thousands of people who attended. I went along with my best friend and on the website it suggested that we ride the Marta to the nearest station to the park and walk the remaining distance. So we did! This was both my best friend and I first time riding the Marta, we did know what to do and had no idea what stop to get off on. We were constantly asking different Marta employees for directions and in the beginning it seemed a little scary. We ended up having a short and successful ride there, then came the walking! I'm not sure if I've ever walked this much in one day in my entire life, it was about a 15 minute walk to Piedmont Park, once we got to the park we had to pass it to retrieve my wrist band which ended up being another 10 minuet walk there and back to the park.

Once at the park we had to go through the entrance, have our bags searched, be swipe with metal detectors, and scan our wrist bands in. The first performance we were able to see was Dua Lipa, one of my best friends had recommended her music before but it wasn't something I could get into but watching her performance I came up with the idea that it wasn't that bad, I still haven't downloaded any of her music and not sure if I will but overall it was good performance. I danced a little to the music so that says something.

After the first performance we walked around to checkout the food trucks and see what else the festival had to offer, I must say that the lines were long and the food was expensive. We ended up leaving the park, which you had stand in line and scan out to do. We walked to a near restaurant called Woody's Famous Philadelphia Cheesesteak, although we still had to stand in a line we enjoyed our cheesesteak. We spent sometime there and then walked back to the park in time for the next performance of Tove Lo, I sung along to 3 of her songs and was also flashed! YES! TOVE LO FLASHED US! During her song "Talking Body" she pulled down her top and continued to sing and dance! I was surprised because I didn't know she would actually do it, but hey! I guess it was an appropriate song to do such a thing.

Each performance lasted 1 hour an a half, with an hour break in between each. The next performance that we caught was Big Sean and it was such a good performance! Im not a HUGE Big Sean fan but I am a fan and do know a lot of his music, I was excited and it definitely showed! He performed a some new hits as well as some throwbacks! I had never seen him live before and was really happy with my experience. The last performance of the night was my absolute favorite performance of the entire weekend and that goes to the one and only BRUNO MARS. I am so involve with this man, he is so beautiful and has the most gracious and sexiest style of music. I don't understand how one man could be so perfect? He is an amazing live performer, possibly the best I've ever seen. This man knows how to entertain! The show he put on for us this past weekend took me to another atmosphere, his voice, his swag, his dancing! It was all so Godly! I can't forget to mention that he had fireworks throughout his entire show! Almost every song had fireworks in it, I've never seen nothing like that before. It was the highlight of my weekend.

Bruno was the last performance of the night and leaving the park trying to get on the train was hell. I was so many people everywhere trying to ride the train and go the same place we were.

Day 2 was a lot better

We arrived at the park around 4:30 in time to walk around and enjoy the massive crowd and around 6:30 we went to watch the perforce of Young The Giant, a band my best friend is a fan of but I had never been introduced to them until this day. I actually really enjoyed the music and the performance so much that I've been listening to the band since then. I love new music and I think this is a major reason why I enjoyed the festival. After this performance we dashed over to see Russ perform two songs before we decided to get in line for food. The food was not worth the price! We caught the end of the Bastille which I jammed my heart out to! I was a little sad that I didn't get the chance to see the entire performance but the part I did catch was great. The last performance for us was future, this performance had the biggest crowd I had seen the entire weekend, it was crazy! Future played a lot of throwback songs as well as a lot of up to date ones, he also brought out a special guest Young Thug, which I was super surprised and excited about. It was fun and full of energy.

OH! How could I forget that there was a fight near me, I was so close that I could've gotten hit. As you can imagine there are a lot of drunk people at these festivals and when too many drunk people come together fights are like second nature.

Overall I had an amazing, life changing experience and can't wait to see the lineup for next year to decide if I would go back. Below are some moments I captured from this amazing weekend.

xoxo -KT
